Joseph Hagen

Joseph J. Hagen, 89, of Muskegon, passed away on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at the Sanctuary of the Shores Nursing Center in Grand Haven. Joseph was born on March 7, 1919 on the Hagen family farm in Sitka to Paul and Mamie (Miller) Hagen, and graduated from Fremont High School in 1938. Joe met and later married Rose Deblock on April 19, 1941 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick, and Rose preceded him in death on May 9, 2006. Joe had been a farmer on the family farm in Sitka for many years until he moved to Muskegon in 1972, where he worked in the maintenance department of the Anaconda Steel and Michigan Spring Companies until his retirement. Joe enjoyed gardening and tak ing care of his yard. He was also member of the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Muskegon.
He is survived by his children, Joseph P. (Mary) Hagen of Alto and Esther (Ben) Beaudry of Muskegon; his grandchildren, Jillayne (Peter) Neathercott, Holly Hagen, and Jody Beaudry; great-grandchildren, Katie Neathercott, Daniel Neathercott, Dawson Beaudry, and Makenna Beaudry.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Harvey, Paul and Arnold.
Funeral Mass Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Muskegon, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
