Wanda J. MacDonald
(January 14, 1930 - January 18, 2008)
Wanda J. MacDonald, 78, of Fremont, passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at Spectrum Health - Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.
Wanda was born on Jan. 14, 1930 in Muskegon to Floyd B. and Una (Gruver) Moore, and had been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area. Wanda graduated from Fremont High School and later married Paul MacDonald on Dec. 23, 1947 in Muskegon. Wanda was a charter member of the New Ocea Free Trappers, where she was an active member for many years and held various positions. She was an active volunteer with the youth in Fremont over the years, being a Grandmother mentor at Pathfinder School, troop leader for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and Job’s Daughters. Wanda enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and took an active role in their lives.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul of Fremont; her children, Jeanine (Rick) Oswald of Muskegon, Timothy MacDonald and partner Shirley Harris of Fairbanks, Alaska, Denise MacDonald of Grand Rapids, Burton (Rebecca) MacDonald of Fremont, Michael (Jodi) MacDonald of Fremont, Suzanne (Dean) Maring of Fremont, and Amy (Dean) Frees of Hesperia; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; four sisters; and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcia MacDonald; and by her grandsons, Demont MacDonald and Timothy Burton MacDonald.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place with memorial services being held
at a later time at the family home. Friends may consider the Renucci Hospitality
House at Spectrum Health Foundation in Grand Rapids for memorial contributions in
memory of Wanda. Friends may also send a condolence or share a memory with the MacDonald
