Robert A. “Pete” Peterson

Robert A. “Pete” Peterson, 70, of Greenville, North Carolina, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.
He was born in Grand Rapids, the son of the late Henry J. and Anna Peterson. He was raised in Fremont, and graduated from Fremont High School in 1958. For 22 years, he served in the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard. Following his retirement from the military, he was employed with Camden County Schools. A resident of Greenville, North Carolina since 2000, he was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, where he actively participated in the Spring Fling Fundraiser each year, and was a member of the Greenville Golden K Kiwanis.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Meiner Peterson; a daughter, Kari (Ken) Hall of Mebane, North Carolina; sons, Robert (Irene) Peterson, Jr. of Port Orange, Florida and Ross Peterson of Winterville; grandchildren, Jodie, Ingrid, Evan, Collin, and H. Wade; and a brother, J. Richard Peterson of Hilo, Hawaii.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7 at 2 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the St. James Chapel, adjacent to the sanctuary, one hour prior to the service.
