Michael J. Kohns

(June 19, 1954 - April 15, 2008)

Michael J. Kohns, 53, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Poppen Residence.

He was born on June 19, 1954 in Rhode Island to James and Eleanore (Bradley) Kohns, and had lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. He grew up in Fremont, and graduated from Fremont High School in 1973. Michael was a member of Calvary Church and a member of Prayer Partners. He was a “Big” Michigan fan.

On June 21, 1986, he married Kathryn Priest in Muskegon, and she survives him along with his parents; a sister, Marge (Steve) Mead of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three brothers, Jeff (Sherri) Kohns of North Carolina, Tim (Linda) Kohns of North Carolina, and Dan (Martha) Kohns of Gladwin; his mother-in-law, Hazel Priest; two sisters-in-law, Darlynn (Rick) Cooper of Muskegon and Rosanne Priest of Hart; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Saturday, April 19 at Calvary Church, with Pastor Bill Rudd and Pastor Jeff Kohns officiating. Interment was made at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
