Larry C. Comis

(November 27, 1951 - September 1, 2008)

Larry C. Comis, 56, of Fremont, passed away with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer early Monday morning, Sept. 1, 2008 at Mercy Health Partners-Mercy Campus in Muskegon.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1951 in Fremont to Charles and Virginia (Kempf) Comis. Larry was a US Army Veteran, and he had been a dairy farmer all of his life.

On March 14, 1978 he married Nancy K. Stalsonburg and she survives him along with three children, Garry Lee (Teda) Comis of Fremont, Angela Kay (Daniel) Rottier of Fremont, and Laura Lynn Comis of Fremont; two grandchil dren, Nathan and Samantha Comis, and one baby Rottier grandchild expected in February; his father, Charles Comis of Fremont; a broth er, Ken (Nancy) Comis of Fremont; two sisters, Nancy (Jim) Hines of Newaygo and Jean (Ken) Stroven of Fremont; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Ruth Stalsonburg of Newaygo; and his brother-in-law, Michael (Donnis) Stalsonburg of Allendale.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Comis on June 28, 2003.

The funeral service was held on Thursday morning, Sept. 4 at First Reformed Church in Fremont, with Pastor Roger Grandia offi ciating. Interment was made in Maple Grove Cemetery.
